# 3. Add metadata for the identifiers section

In this section of the tutorial, you'll **add metadata** for the identifiers section of the template. This will allow the template to display actual data from the record, and list all its different identifiers. You'll do this by adding **data paths** to each identifier's type, and the value held for that type.

**Return to the top** of Section 1.2: Identifiers

Click **Add metadata**.

Label it **Section 1.2: Identifiers: Metadata**

- Choose **Block** as the design
- Choose **Column** as the content direction

Click **Add a Primary Heading** 

Choose **metadata value** as the type of heading

- Choose **Relative** as the path type
- Enter `$.type` as the data path

### In the content section

- Choose **Relative** as the path type
- Enter `$.value` as the data path
