# 1. Create a new template and add a container section

In the first section of the tutorial you'll find a rich record and **create a new template** to display it, setting up a **container section** to display different types of data from the record.

**Search your data** for a rich record with the kind of data that we'll be formatting.

**Open the record** to view it in the existing object template.

Click on the plus icon to the right of the template dropdowns to **create a new blank template**.

- Choose **record view** as the purpose
- Give your template a name: **Painting Template**
- Apply to **all Endpoints**

**Save** the empty template

**Choose your new template** from the template dropdown.

Click on the page icon to **edit your new template**.

Click on **Add Section** to add a new section.

Tick **Display in navigation pane**.

Add a label: **Section 1: Container**

- Choose **Block** as the design
- Choose **Row** as the content direction
- Choose **Yes** for container

Skip the header section.

In the **content section**: 

- Choose **relative** as the path type 
- Choose **Dashed Divider** as a separator

**Save** the container
