Editing the display template
The display template editor is complex, but allows you to control which data fields are displayed in a template, and how they are formatted. A template is typically divided into sections. Each section can have a header, some content and some metadata, to display properly.
With a rich record open, and the template you have just created or want to edit selected in the Using Template dropdown, click on the Edit Display Template icon at the right of the screen to open the editor in a sidebar on the right of the screen.
You can close the editor at any time with the ‘X’ icon button above the Edit Display Template icon, but changes you have made may not be saved.
Changes you save as you go along will be reflected in the current view of the template without having to refresh the page.
You can also look at your source data for the current record, see its structure and identify which fields contain which data, by clicking on the Other Formats tab to look at the indexed data.
This will not lose, save or otherwise affect your data as you move between the two. You should use the top navigation to move between the two: if you close the data view with the ‘X’ in the top right hand corner, you will lose your current edits to the custom template.
