# Executing an extraction

When you execute one or more extractions, a new section will appear at the top of the processing history, labelled Processing actions outstanding.

You will see the same details of the extraction as you see in the expanded processing record, as they are happening:

• The time and date that the process began.
• The name of the dataset
• The processing ID

And four boxes corresponding to the four stages of the process as in the expanded processing record:

• Extraction
• Processing
• Internal Indexing
• Publication

While the data extraction is in progress, each of the boxes will show as either loading (in process) or idle (waiting).
